Chart: Cyberbullying Victimization By AgeChart: Cyberbullying Offending By Age

According to PubMed'

The current study examined gender, age, and ethnic disparities in cyberbullying victimisation using a New Zealand national sample (N = 20,849). On average, approximately 14.9 percent of respondents said they had been the victim of cyberbullying in the past, with 2.2 percent reporting such encounters in the previous month. While young individuals had the greatest levels of cyberbullying across both time periods the prevalence of cyberbullying was reduced with older age cohorts, with the 66+ age group having the lowest rate. Reports of cyberbullying differed marginally across men and women, with women reporting slightly higher levels of having ever encountered cyberbullying than males overall; however, this significant difference did not carry over into reports of cyberbullying in the previous month. During both time periods, people identifying as European reported lower levels of cyberbullying than Mori and Pacific Nations participants, with Asian participants being in the centre. These data, when taken together, give a comprehensive perspective of the incidence of cyberbullying in a large national sample of New Zealand individuals.
