Hello, we are an NGO named Comadel!
The name Comadel comes from the function of computers, the command A will select all the texts and pictures on the page and the delete key will erase them. Our hope towards this NGO name is to educate everyone to think and delete unnecessary things beforehand to avoid troubles online.
The 3 main issues of cyberbullying are:
1. The psychological impact,
Cyberbullying can cause severe psychological harm to the victims. It can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and even suicidal thoughts. The constant harassment and humiliation online can be relentless and inescapable, affecting the victim's mental well-being.
2. Privacy and safety concerns
Cyberbullying frequently involves the exploitation of personal and private information. Harassers may publicly publish sensitive or embarrassing information about the victim, resulting in reputational harm and significant safety hazards. This invasion of privacy can have long-term effects, including offline threats or stalking.
3. Difficulties in regulating and reporting.
Cyberbullying may occur across various platforms, making it difficult to control and effectively combat. Different platforms have their own regulations and reporting methods, making collaboration challenging. Furthermore, many victims may be hesitant to report cyberbullying for fear of revenge or the mistaken belief that nothing would be done about it.
The goal of our NGO is to educate the kids so that they would know the causes of cyberbullying and think twice before posting something about themselves or others on social media. Regarding the issues caused by cyberbullying, we could tell that it is already going to be too late once cyberbullying has started. So, the solution would only be to not let it happen from the beginning. But, we all know that this will be impossible, so we would like to teach how to deal with cyberbullying as well.
We will cooperate with schools, mainly elementary schools and middle schools since it would be important to teach them beforehand, and will give lectures to their students. We will teach them how posting things on the internet could be a problem and how to prevent it from causing it. Also, we will talk about how to stop cyberbullying if you get targeted or if you witness one.
We would also like to have a lecture time for the teachers of schools on how to keep their students safe online and what they could do to help the students if they get cyberbullied.
We could also do an online seminar for people who are interested in listening.
The way we are planning to advertise our NGO is to have people invite us to lecture or to come to our online lecture, we are planning to advertise in social media, email marketing and posters.
The social media is the most common place for advertising recently and this could draw the attention of the people that are using their social media right at that moment making them a little nervous about if they are okay with how they are using social media will make them want to listen to our lectures. For the email marketing, the target will be mainly schools, we will be sent to a wide range of schools to raise awareness and the schools that think this is important will reach us back. The last way would be a poster. This will be able to attract a wide range of people from skids to even parents wondering if they are educating their children correctly about cyberbullying or maybe also to the elderly thinking about starting to use social media to get along with their grandchildren.
Interesting NGO! I do agree that educations and those kind of events will be helpful to stop cyber bullying! Thus, covid is over however the online seminar is helpful to the foreigners and even businessmen who works in their workplace all day long.
