1. How can we stop cyberbullying?

There are several advantages to being online. However, like with many things in life, there are hazards that must be avoided.

If you are the victim of cyberbullying, you might want to remove particular applications or go offline for a bit to allow yourself time to heal. However, disconnecting from the Internet is not a long-term solution. You didn't do anything wrong, so why should you be penalised? It may also send an incorrect signal to the bullies, promoting their undesirable behaviour.

So, how exactly can we stop cyberbullying?

1. Block

2. Ignore

3. Get parents involved

4. Take a tech break

5. Report

However, these are some things you could do to prevent cyberbullying:

Utilize privacy settings on social networking sites to keep content private. Adjust settings to restrict access to only the people you select, and regularly check these settings to ensure they remain up-to-date.

Remember that the internet is public, and what you post can never be erased. Avoid sharing sensitive information online, as even revealing sensitive information can have unforeseen consequences.

Keep personal information private, and avoid sharing identifying details like your address, phone number, or credit card number online. Passwords should only be shared with your parents and your parents only.

  1. I agree that disconnecting from the internet completely is not a long-term solution to cyberbullying. It is unfair for victims to be penalized for the actions of others. Moreover, it can inadvertently encourage bullies by sending them the message that their behavior is successful in driving others away. Instead, we need to focus on strategies that empower individuals and promote a safe online environment. It's important to address this issue and find effective ways to stop it.

As same with Rina, I too agree that disconnecting from the internet completely will not solve cryber bullying but instead, make the bullies attitude get tolerated. I like how you included facts and graphs with their sources which made this blog entry very reliable.
